Most furnaces and home heating systems usually remain trouble-free with regular maintenance. If the unit comes on but the warm air isn't reaching the rooms in your home it's likely the blower or distribution system. Dirt and pet hair is one of the largest enemies of your home's heating and air conditioning system. It can dramatically lower the efficiency and raise the cost of heating or cooling your home. Regular maintenance and replacement of filters along with lubrication and belt adjustments can keep one of the most expensive appliances in your home working properly. Most homeowners never touch their heating or cooling systems until there's a problem. Filters at minimum should be replaced every 90 days, homes with more than one pet should consider filter replacement every 60 days. If your heating system will not turn on, If you don't hear or see that your heating system is not coming on you may need service technician to look at your unit. There two things you can check before calling us. 1, look to see if the cover on the heater or furnace is on properly, all home heaters and furnaces have a safety switch. If the cover is not locked in place, it will not let the unit turn on. 2, If you know where your breaker box or fuse box is, look to see if a breaker switch is tripped off. If the switch that powers the heater keep switching it's self off, you need us to come look at it.

If your gas heater is blowing cool air you may have a problem with your system not igniting, if your gas is turned on at the meter, and you are experiencing this problem you should switch your system off, and call us to take a look. If you have an electric heating system do the same, turn off the system and call for a service inspection.

Odd odors are common when you first turn on your heating system for the season. If the odor or smell keeps up for more than a day or two you should have a professional look into the problem.
